Does your child like to build things?

Are you constantly amazed by your child's passion and creativity towards building and creating things? Perhaps they build crazy creations in Minecraft or with LEGO.

If so, then our engineering workshop is made for your child!

In this workshop, your child will use their creativity to develop their engineering and problem solving skills. Your child will learn about physics, motors, and more as they build their own motorized vehicle. Not only that, but they get to bring their custom creation home with them at the end of the workshop! This is the workshop for our next generation of makers, builders and creators.

Tentative Workshop Schedule

A busy day ahead!

This schedule is meant to be a guide and can change from location to location. If you would like more specific information on the schedule please give us a call at 605-231-5431.

15 Minutes Before Drop-Off
15 Minutes Camp Kickoff: Here we get the workshop started the LCB way!
40 Minutes Building your car's engine: Students learn about car physics, motors, and circuits while they assemble the engine for their vehicle.
15 Minutes Brain Break / Fun Activity We take a break from the hands on activities to learn about other engineering projects and ideas.
40 Minutes Car Design Phase: This is when the creativity kicks in. Students get to engineer their cars wheels and frame. After that, they get to design their vehicle to make it their own.
15 Minutes Brain Break: We take a quick break from the designing phase to let students stretch out and discuss their designs. This is also a great time for students to stretch out and give their creative engines (their brain) a short break.
40 Minutes Final Project and Events: Use the skills they learned and the vehicles they designs to try out different events and competitions. We test things such as how fast the cars go, how straight they drive, how they perform with additional weight, and a design showcase.
15 Minutes Showcase We invite parents in at this time and showcase the motorized vehicles the students built during the workshop. We also showcase other LCB learning opportunities for your child.

QUESTIONS WE GET FROM TIME TO TIME

Questions and Answers

Do you allow age exceptions?

Learn Create Build isn't about strict age requirements. Every child can be at a different level and we don't want to exclude children from becoming part of a camp they want to attend. However, we do outline age guidelines on all of our camps. These are guidelines and not rules. If you are wondering if your child an handle a particular camp please contact us at hello@learncreatebuild.com to get a better idea of what to expect at camp. Also, on each camp page, there is a requirements section that describes what camp participants should be able to do independently. Use this as a guide to see if your child has the skills necessary to complete the tasks of the camp her or she is interested in.

Do you offer financial aid or scholarships?

Unfortunately, at the time there is no financial aid or scholarship opportunities available through Learn Create Build. Depending on location and camp, we will occasionally have universities and nonprofit organizations offer scholarships to their local communities. If this is made available to us we will post these opportunities to our mailing list.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

You can learn more about our policy by checking out the cancellation/refund policy page here.

When is the last day to register for a camp?

Learn Create Build will allow students to join a camp up until the day before the start of a camp. However, waiting until the last day can be risky as most camps will fill up. If a camp is sold out, there is no guarantee more spots will be open.
